Rixing Go Digital

Rixing is the world's last and only type foundry that's still making traditional Chinese letterpress. Ggaedok

Ggaedok is a brand identity for a series of Korean language study supplements. The name Ggaedok is an acronym of the Korean phrase Ggaewooja Dokhaeryuk, which refers to awakening confidence and reading comprehension. The logo combines the name with quotation marks, chosen because their shape resembles Korean consonants and vowels. Color foils in selected Pantone colors highlight parts of the quotation marks, and matte coating increases their visibility. Characters printed in the vocabulary book and the reading comprehension book add interest for students.

Centrestage 2021

Centrestage 2021 is an introductory event space created for a fashion trade event in Hong Kong. The 600 square metre space was used for opening receptions, fashion presentations and, in default mode, an audio-visual experience. Suspended LED screens, a floating staircase, an infinity mirror and overlapping planes of mesh, mirror and acrylic form the setting. All items were prefabricated off site to allow a three-day installation. Reusable aluminium frames and biodegradable carpets were used.

Visions Of Future

Visions of Future is an interactive digital installation created for an exhibition booth. Optical sensors detect the presence of a visitor and place the visitor at the center of the experience. Five scenarios with real-time abstract graphics play in a cycle while the visitor stays inside the interaction area. The architecture combines LED screen blocks, glass blocks, neon lights and frames with concrete, glass and dark matte wood. Depth data from a motion camera is processed and visualized in real time. The installation expresses the idea of services that surround the user.

Leaves

Leaves is a club house for a residential community, located halfway up a mountain in Changsha, China. The interior covers 2000 square meters on two floors. The first floor holds a reception lobby, a swimming pool and a gymnasium, and the second floor is a leisure area with a book bar. A lighting installation of custom made LED leaves is held by white painted aluminum steel cables that also act as conductors. Light control technology shifts the glow of each leaf to imitate autumn wind. The rolling ceiling of the former building is retained to recall a wavy mountain.

The intent is to reach younger customers who value real experiences and social sharing. The first installment was presented at the department store Lane Crawford.
